The Laugavegur Trek takes adventurers from the geothermal valley of Landmannalaugar and the southern highlands, over the southern highlands to the Þórsmörk valley, at the foot of world famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano. The Fimmvörduháls Trek goes from the lush valley of Þórsmörk, up between the two glaciers Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull, then passes the two newest craters Magni and Móði formed in the notorious Eyjafjallajökull eruption, before descending to the lowlands on the southern side.
