About Lapin Luontoelämys
Your guide is a highly experienced wilderness guide
Raija Raiski Palosaari is the founder and owner of Lapin Luontoelämys. She has decades of experience hiking in fells in summer and also winter time. Raija has also trained many people to survive in nature in diverse conditions, as well as having three decades of scouting experience. She has set up three scout groups in the Lappi area.
Raija has also made it into the Guinness Book of World Records, in 1987, when she planned and executed a Uniscout-ski trip from Kilpisjärvi to Tornio (530kilometres, 44 hours, 4 person relay). That was the time when Raija got her scout name Raijaski aka Raiski.
Alongside completing several courses, Raija has competed in many nature competitions, and acquired hands on experience throughout her lifetime, which have enabled her to complete the training to become a certified wilderness guide.
