About Northern Norway
Northern Norway is the largest and most sparsely populated part of mainland Norway. It stretches from the idyllic Helgeland region, to mainland Europe's northernmost point.
In Northern Norway, there is no darkness throughout the summer thanks to the midnight sun.
You can watch the whales cavort in the sea, or hike the mountains or fish the sea at your own pace. Tromso is perfect for exceptional hiking in the summer and skiing and dog sledding in winter.
If you travel to the coast of Nordland, you can dive din the world’s strongest tidal current, Saltstraumen, or explore the Lofoten and Vega islands with their unique nature. When winter sets in, so does the skiing season.
