Big up Philip and Robbie who were both superb at looking after us. The views were incredible and there’s wine at the end! Probably the best thing we did in Dubrovnik

“ Epic highlight of Dubrovnik ”
Amazing evening kayak tour with our guide Vdren to show us another side of Dubrovnik. He shared interesting facts and history about the different spots that we stopped at, which were breath taking. He even shared info about Lokrum Island, which we will have to visit when we come back.
A laid back, cruisy style tour and he even gave us the option of going to a quieter beach so we could have the space to ourselves.
Plenty of opportunities for photo ops too.
This is a highlight of our honeymoon, thank you so much for the experience.

“ Fun trip and good guides ”
The trip is beautiful. It is about 7-8 km long, but inexperienced people can do it. It is a good idea to wear shoes - the rocks at the beaches you visit and depart from are extremely unpleasant for your bare feet. Our guides Philip and Rovi were great, and stayed after the trip to make sure that we all had plenty of wine!

“ Must Do! ”
We took the kayak tour with X-Adventure. I would definitely recommend the Sunset tour for 2 reasons - not as hot and the view is incredible.
The starting point is easy to find - just outside of Pile Gate. At the starting point you are told the basics, provided with lifejackets, a small plastic barrels for quick access items (e.g. phone, camera, suncream etc.) and a dry bag for items you wish to bring (e.g. towel, change of clothes, wallet etc.) although I would recommend leaving your clothes and towel in your bag in the locker at the starting point as you do not need these until you return. They also give you a bottle of water to bring with you.
The kayaking is fairly straight forward. Our guide Marco was very friendly, informative and provided some humour. There are two guides on the water with you - the tour guide providing the information and another guide who stays at the back to ensure nobody falls behind and everyone is together. Marco and Philip were our guides.
There are roughly 6 stops on the water - 2 stops within a cave. Our second stop on the water was the cave for swimming, snorkeling, cliff jumping and ham sandwiches. Vegetation options also provided. I recommend bringing flip flops or sliders as the beach is very pebbly and difficult to walk on. This part of the tour seems a little rushed. After this stop we paddled towards Lokrum Island. There was another opportunity to swim here as we stopped within a cave while our guide checked the water and wind on the reminder of our route.
Finally, we stopped for 10 minutes to watch the sun setting and for pictures. This ensured you got the best of the sunset.
On return to the starting point there is an opportunity to change and your guide brings you to a nearby beach where you experience wine tasting - nothing fancy, wine in a plastic cup but for the price you pay it is totally worth it!

“ It was fun! ”
We liked the Tour with our Guides Filip and Marko. They were communicative and accessible all the time. As we are coming every year for Vacation to Dubrovnik (it‘s my birth town), this is one of the best things you can do.
The only thing I didn‘t like that much, was the stop in the cave. The stones are all very sharp and you have to watch every step because of the slippery underground.
I recommend everyone to have a glass of wine after the tour to get in touch with the guides or the other participants of the tour.

“ An interesting experience with flaws ”
So we were meant to do the kayaking on Thursday but were advised to rebook for the next day due to harsh sea conditions which we did. The next day we were so excited to do the kayaking! The loading area stunk but this didn’t put us off the experience. The thing that was extremely played down was how difficult the kayaking was, we had to row 7 kilometres out to sea which was extremely tough and we had to go very fast to keep up with our group who seemed to act like they were training for an Olympic rowing tournament? We also didn’t get the 15 minutes advertised to cave swim and cliff jump as our group were very odd and decided to continue their Olympic training and carry on kayaking further out to sea? I was very confused and so was the instructor equally. Also the cave we stopped in last for lunch was absolutely packed and just wasn’t that cool of an experience. But I appreciated the sandwiches because I really needed that nourishment boost as I was exhausted and was starting to get agitated. The sunset was also not that great as it was blocked by buildings and I truly thought we were going to paddle out to sea and watch this (perhaps reversing the tour itinerary would make the tour better, different destinations first?). Finally, the “wine tasting” was most definitely not wine tasting and falsely advertised. I believe we were going to stop on an island for 30 minutes for a wine tasting and actually this turned out to be a plastic cup and cheap wine given to us at the loading bay at the end as we left. Overall it was a averagely ok experience, some good bits but also some disappointing aspects.

“ Top notch ”
After searching to find the meeting spot under a restaurant, Darko’s sixth sense drew him over and advised clients to wait as the others arrived.
He introduced our group leader and away the group went. The leaders collected some water and took a stroll towards the kayak haven at the other end of the bay.
We were introduced to another leader and found that the tour would take place in English. The clients were paired up with another kayaker, as they only offered twin kayaks. I looked around and hoped I was in luck as there were some groups of 3 girls. I was paired with a British girl. Win.
The company provide you with waterproof dry bags, to store towels and shoes for the island stop and small waterproof dry buckets to ensure you have easy access to cameras etc. They also gave us life jackets.
My kayak buddy and I put our towels and some snacks in each. The company also provided a manned, locked storage facility for your belongings you don’t want to take on the kayak. The intro to the kayaking itself was simple, but all you’d need before going into the Adriatic and basking in the sun.
Into the boat my partner and I went. She panelled left, and I, right. We made slow progress. Ultimately, we found a system that worked for us. She doesn’t know how many times I merely sat and got paddled around.
The tour itself was incredible. The scenery was picturesque. The tour guide knew enough to give an insight into the history but kept it short and sweet as not to bore the life out of you.
We stopped at the back of Lokrum island and the leaders pulled the kayaks onto the rocks. I’d advise flip flops as a minimum here.
We stopped for around an hour in a secluded bay only our group accessed. They pulled out ham and cheese sandwiches for the group. My kayak partner and I made a childish swap, my cheese for her ham. The company provided snorkels and allowed us to come and go as we pleased into the sea, showing us places to cliff dive safely.
Leaving me alone with the Brit, we saddled back into the kayak, heading away from the island back towards the old town, stopping to basque in the glorious sun set alongside the high walls. My kayak buddy and I took some photos for each other and was bobbed around taking in the view with the other 8 kayaks. I hoped she’d take my number at the end instead of airdrop of email.
We swiftly arrived back in the harbour 5/10 minutes after the sun set and unloaded the equipment.
The group wondered to a secluded beach where the headquarters of the company were based. Here is where the wine “tasting” began. My kayak buddy and I started talking with other kayakers as we sampled some of Croatia’s locally produced wine. We were given a tasting bottle each and a bag of peanuts.
After the samplers disappeared, we were pleasantly surprised to be given the opportunity to sample more wine. We sampled more. And again.
Anyways, my new friends and I went out for dinner in the old town with our belly’s full of red/white wine.
Regardless to say I somehow managed to pluck up the courage to ask my kayak buddy back to my hotel that night.
She said yes! What are the chances. My own wife agreeing to come back with me!!

“ Great kayaking, no need for the wine tasting ”
The kayaking around lokrum island was amazing, and guides very friendly (which is the majority of the activity). However the stop off in a cave was very crowded and the "wine tasting" was simply a bottle of cheap wine in a plastic cup afterwards (not mid kayaking as we wrongly assumed). I would still recommend, we had a great evening!

“ Amazing sunset trip 🌅 ”
We booked the sunset Kayak tour on the day over the telephone. It was a bit chaotic getting going due to all the multiple groups going out onto the water but once we were out it was bliss to be away from the heat and hustle and bustle of old town Dubrovnik. Our guides Marco and Robbie were great. Marco told us about the geographical area, the politics and war whilst we stoped for breaks which was really interesting. We swam, snorkelled and enjoyed a sandwich. The actual sunset was the true highlight and was a memory I will cherish. That and I shall forever refer to nudist beaches from now on as “sausage beaches!” (Thanks for that gem Marco!! ) A lovely very mini bottle of wine to finish off the evening. A great trip.

“ Fun, informative and beautiful ”
This kayaking trip was wonderful! My group was led by Helen who was absolutely incredible. She's funny, engaging, kind and helpful. At various points throughout the trip she gave us some really fascinating history about Dubrovnik.
There was a stop to do cliff diving. I didn't partake but it was fun to watch others do it. We had several opportunities to swim and we also had a stop where we could snorkel or do more cliff diving. At that point, they also handed out sandwiches which were really lovely after kayaking for a couple hours.
We had a chance to sit and watch the sunset and then headed back for wine. Overall it was a really great trip and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

Set off from the Old Town after a safety briefing - all your gear you want to take is put in waterproof bags you take with you. Recommend a waterproof camera though, the views of the walls, Lokrum Island and the caves are unreal!
Rob was an great guide too, fun, knowledgeable and friendly! Definitely go for the wine after too, such a relax in the bay after the paddle!

“ Sunset Sea Kayaking ”
My friends and I booked the sunset tour whilst in Dubrovnik and were not disappointed.
Philip was our guide, he made us feel very welcome and made sure everyone felt comfortable with the equipment.
The whole tour was great fun, Philip stopped at key points to tell us a bit about the history of Dubrovnik. We had free time to swim and take photographs.
We were meant to stop at a cave for sandwiches but it was too busy, so Philip suggested we paddle slightly further down and stop there. Everyone was very happy with this decision. We found a spot to eat and enjoy some snorkelling.
The timings couldn’t have been planned better - the sun was setting over old town as we paddled back towards where we had started.
We were then taken to a small area not far from the beach and given a choice of wine. My friend enjoyed the red wine, I wasn’t a fan of white wine but that’s just my taste... my friend finished it no problem.
Would highly recommend and would definitely book onto this tour again when I go back to Dubrovnik in the future.

“ Excellent evening on the sea ”
My boyfriend and I went on the sunset tour during our stay in Dubrovnik and were not disappointed. The guides were all incredibly friendly and easy-going when we arrived at the X-Adventure base, they made us feel comfortable and supplied us with barrels and dry bags to keep our belongings safe while on the water and a bottle of water each to stay hydrated.
The tour itself was really fun, though it is a workout and probably not for those who get easily tired. We went around the bay up to a sea cave where we stopped for 30 mins to swim, snorkel and eat sandwiches the guides had prepared. Then on round the island of Lokrum and back round to the bay where we started.
This is a great way to spend an evening in Dubrovnik, especially the sunset tour as it provided amazing photo opportunities. Our guide Philip was so easy going and full of facts and history about the local area. Philip was patient and made sure everyone in the group was keeping their own pace and no one was left behind. He even arranged for a member of the party who was seasick to be picked up from the cave.
On return to the shore we were greeted with a complimentary mini bottle of white or red wine while we chatted to the guides and other tourists. A great evening!

This is a great excursion. You may think that a 7km kayak trip is a long way and tough to do but it’s not. There are plenty of stops along the way to rest your arms! The guides were great, full of knowledge and stories about the island of Lokrum which made the circumnavigation much easier.
I would recommend this trip as a “must do”!

“ Don’t Miss the Sunset Kayaking Tour ! ”
This 3 hour kayaking tour at sunset was one of my favorite adventures in Croatia. The backdrop of the gorgeous city, ocean, and Lokum Island would have been enough, but our guide Alex made it extra special. We stopped at a beach for actual cliff diving, as well as swimming. And Alex provided interesting information about the island and area. The ocean breeze and splashing water made it quite comfortable despite the warm temperature. The wine and bruschetta chips were a delicious finale after the sun set. Don’t miss this!

A great trip around the island of Lokrum, with stops to learn about the history of the beautiful Dubrovnik old city and enjoy the scenery. Our guide Martin was very knowledgeable and helpful. “ You'll get wet but that's part of the fun ”
Excellent evening trip along the walls of the city and out to Lokrum Island and around. The equipment is good, it's open top kayaks, so you'll get wet but they extremely stable and hard to tip. Well suited for beginners.
It's about 7.5 -8 km of paddling and it's fairly easy going - they offer wetsuits, life jackets, dry bags etc and the guides are good fun.
If you are on your own you get paired with somebody else as they do not have single kayaks - this made for a bit more work for me as my partner had never kayaked before and didn't overly enjoy it.

“ The best experience, a must do ”
What an amazing experience, an absolute MUST DO if you're in Croatia! Our guides (Dino and Philip) were amazing. They had us cracking up laughing on several occasions and still shared with us a lot of the rich history of Croatia. The waters were calm and it was an easy paddle. The company provided us with everything we needed (dry buckets, dry bags, snorkeling equipment, waters, sandwiches, etc.). The first stop in the cave is super cool and the fish are really friendly so it's awesome to snorkel with them and we were even able to take some of our sandwich and have the fish eat it out of hands. Paddling back into the sunset was quite possibly one of the most beautiful and peaceful things I've ever done. Our guides never rushed us and truly wanted us to enjoy the beauty of what was in front of us. We all hung out and drank wine when we got back. Literally one of the best things we did in our entire 3 weeks in Croatia. MUST DO!

A great experience. Lovely to see dubrovnik and the city walls from the sea. It was a big group but the guides did well keeping everyone together. They also shared stories and history about the area which was nice. We stopped at a cave which seems to be the spot where all the kayak groups stop so it was pretty crowded but nice to have a rest and a swim. A sandwich was also provided.
Great sunset views on the way back and we were able to take some.lovely photos. (Dry bags/containers were provided for clothes, shoes, camera etc)
Finished with a glass of wine back at shore. It was a long tour, about 3.5 hours all up and a lot of paddling, more than I had expected - We were told it was 7.5km.

Myself and my boyfriend went on this tour 2 nights ago. The tour lasts about 3 hours and you stop off in a cave for some snorkelling (not that exciting but youll see a few fish) and a rest. Deano our tour guide was a lovely guy who told us a lot of history about Dubrovnik, can't rate him highly enough. Included is a small bottle of water and a small sandwich roll. I've docked half a star as the 'wine tasting'is simply a complimentary small bottle (250ml) of wine on arrival back and not what I would call wine tasting as such. Having said that we can't fault the tour itself. Make sure to bring sun lotion and you travel a distance of around 8km so be prepared for a work out!

It was a great experience! At the start we were a little lost finding the meeting place but soon found our way to the meeting point and soon got started with the adventure. They provided us with a waterproof container to keep mobile phones, wallets etc accessible and a waterproof bag for other items e.g. towel. Our backpacks were kept safely in a locked cabinet at the counter. Our guides H and Robbie distributed the life jackets and H briefed us on the use of the kayak paddles. We then took our paddles and were soon off on our adventure that took us first to Betina Cave where we had fun cliff jumping into the crystal clear waters. After that was a trip around Lorkum Island with rest stops along the way. H told us stories about Dubrovnik and Lorkum which was informative and entertaining while Robbie was always on the look out for stragglers and safety. The sunset over Dubrovnik was beautiful as we kayaked back into the bay. The silky surface of the Adriatic Sea was mesmerizing. We ended the evening with wine and good cheer! All the best to H for his university entrance exam and getting into a course of study of his choice. All the best to Robbie for his new job with the company. 梦运友

The best part of the tour was the wine tasting wherein we had the chance to mingle with our guide. That makes the tour perfect done with the guide of course especially with Darko.

Brilliant evening exploring the harbour walls and around lokrum, good value for money with a knowledgable and friendly local guide. Take some footwear for the cove where you stop for a break because it is quite sharp underfoot. Will be recommending to friends visiting Dubrovnik in the future.

“ A highlight of the holiday. ”
As the title states, this was a highlight of our trip. The trip was well organised. The guys were incredibly helpful and informative about the history of Dubrovnik. We could not recommend them enough! The sunset tour was beautiful.

“ Amazing trip! Will never forget it! ”
From start to finish these guys have thought this through! So well organised, professional and super relaxed! We loved every minute of it and actually enjoyed our little stops in between and learning about the history of Dubrovnik!
Couldn’t rate it more!! The lads were super relaxed, forth coming, friendly and had a class sense of humour!
For the money you pay, the views you get and what you see you can’t complain at all!
Special thanks to Dan the Man and Mario, such gentleman, we hope your boss will now give you the beer he promised lol!
Well done guys, very happy customers!!!!!

“ Sunset Tour ”
The team are very enthusiastic and passionate about their country and city, this was proven when our tour started in heavy rain! It didn't dampen our spirits however and we had a great trip. Would absolutely go on another trip with them again.

“ Relaxed and fun Sunset Tour ”
Had great time on the Sunset Tour. Dan and Mario took us out, with one of them always in the lead and one at the back. We were a good sized group, but the guys made sure we stayed together and stayed out of the way of boats. We had the option to wear a wet suit if we wished, or we could just wear our own clothes (ideally with a spare set to change into afterwards). We were able to leave larger valuables in a storage shed, or we could take them with us in a waterproof bag and container. We used two-person kayaks, and if someone was on their own and had no experience of kayaking, then they were matched with another traveller who did have experience.
The team were all really friendly and relaxed, and every so often we paused for a rest and were treated to a talk from Dan or Mario about the history of Dubrovnik. We also stopped at a cave and were able to do some swimming. Braver people jumped off some rocks. At this point we were also given sandwiches.
When we got back, Edi gave us wine, which was a great end to the experience.
Kayaking was a big highlight of my stay in Dubrovnik, and I certainly recommend it.

“ Kayaking was awesome and the sandwiches were even better! ”
This tour was the highlight of our trip to Dubrovnik!! Edi and Mario were the BEST tour guides ever who made the kayaking so much fun and enjoyable, plus their stories were so interesting and fascinating! When we got to the cave we had the nicest sandwiches that re-energised us so we could power through the rest of the kayaking. We will definitely be back to do this incredible tour again :)

“ Accountable and honest company ”
Unfortunately, weather was not on our side, the ocean became unsafe, and the group leader had to cancel our tour.. 15 min into the paddle. That being said, Dan was an awesome guide for the duration and I liked that he was professional about teaching, leading, and even preoccupying us with the history of Dubrovnik while we were waiting for some of our group to get shoes (they had left them at the launch area but we had to pull into shore on another beach...) in order to walk back to the boat launch.
Had it been a full tour, I have no doubts it would have been awesome.
I also like how accountable and honest the company was. They seem to go out of their way to accommodate you and are flexible with their bookings based on the weather. The communication is excellent, reachable by various methods of contact. Because our tour was cancelled, they said they would refund us and they were true to their word. We got the refund back within 2 business days.
Thanks for being a safe and honest company . :)

“ Sunset kayaking ”
Completed the sunset kayak tour yesterday with Dan (the man) as our guide. Dan was very knowledgable and answered all the questions put to him. He also done well to keep a slower pace as we took some time to get to the grips with the technique. Would recommend this especially the sunset tour when the weather is good! Cheers from Scotland Dan!

“ Ivan (GI Joe) was a great guide and we loved the sunset tour!! ”
My partner and I went on the sunset kayak tour today at 3:30pm. We started as a big group of 7 with 2 instructors. After the first leg to Lokrum some of the group were getting tired and slowing so the more experienced guide took them towards the cave and we were split with Ivan (GI Joe). During the briefing we were told that Ivan was in training and would be coming along to learn.
We just wanted to reach out and give Ivan the highest praise! He was so helpful and informative. His knowledge of Dubrovnik and Lokrum was so great we learnt so much from the tour. Ivan would be a great asset to your company as we felt safe and comfortable the entire time! We even shared some laughs and learnt lots too!
Thank you so much!

“ Enjoyable evening activity with stunning views! ”
We had a great time kayaking and it was amazing to see the old town out at sea! The views were surreal! Our hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable and it was typical that my mates were the only ones who capsized their kayak.. would definitely recommend but ensure you are not on low sleep like we were as it can get tiring.
Only downside was the tasting at the end, whilst it was good to taste Croatian wine I was expecting a more group tasting. Better in the evening as the sunset adds more beauty to the scenery.

“ Fantastic experiences and very nice guide tour ”
I enjoyed kayaking with x-adventure Dubrovnik for 8 times last year. Guide names are Dan, Darko and Eddie. They always took care of safety, talked to use about history of dubrovnik, and introduce nice points for diving and seeing sunset. I recommend this company for kayaking tour.

“ Great time. ”
Darko is the organizer and communicator of the company for my trip. Our first attempt of the trip was canceled due to rough sea conditions. Then we made it happen next day. All through, Darko has been open and honest with his communication.
Dan took us out and the condition is not ideal but definitely enjoyable. The company has gears so you don’t have to worry about storage and things getting wet.
As a beginner, I felt safe and well taken care of.
The view is nice and we got to ‘touched’ Lokrum Island as well.
Till next time. Although I looked the some of the photos of peak season and definitely like our adventures better with the whole cave to ourselves better. :)

“ Disorganised ”
Overall we had a decent time - it was lovely being out on the water, and the snorkeling/jumping off cliffs in the fisherman's cave was lovely! That was definitely the highlight for me, so it was a shame that we could only stay there for about half an hour.
The tour itself was very disorganised - our guide had a lot of information to share with us about the history of Dubrovnik, but he didn't convey it in a way that made sense to us. I also felt that some of the things he said were simply not true. Also, the guide and his helper managed to lose one of the participants on our tour - it was a single guy who was part of our tour group. There were several tour groups of kayakers out on the water, and he must have gotten confused and joined a different group/gone a different way by accident. The guides didn't realise they'd lost him until someone else in our group asked where the single guy was, and one of the guides paddled off quickly to find him. They managed to get him back, but if the girl who pointed out that he was gone hadn't done that I don't think they would have realised he was gone at all!

“ Do It!!! ”
I was on the fence about going. I have kayaked before and for some reason went back and forth. I am SO unbelievably happy that I did it. Dan our guide was fantastic. Funny, informative and well timed. We paddled to a small beach in a cave where we snorkled for a bit and had a snack. Then we paddled aroudn the island to an inlet where we got the chance to cliff dive (do it!) then we got back to land and had some local wine. You will get wet!!! I wore my bathing suite. They give you a dry bag for your stuff as well as a dry bucket to put some stuff you wont need redibly accessable. They do have a place for you to leave stuff behind. Not lockers but a little shed that has some staff. They have bathrooms to use as well. Lastly, they give you these wind jacket things in case it gets chilly later in the tour. Overall I would highly recommend it is something I'll never forget.

“ Great! but no 'wine tasting' ”
We went on this trip and the guys at x-adventure are very professional and there is good quality equipment provided. The tour is very good and the guides very helpful and knowledgeable.
The only down side is this is labeled at a wine tasting experience when all it means is they include some wine at the end. It's very nice and completes the evening but not just ourselves on our group were confused by this.
Either way would recommend!

Me and my boyfriend had such a nice time on the sunset sea kayaking - we would both absolutely recommend trying it! Our guide, Dan, was super nice and friendly. The kayaking was kindof tricky, we both feel a bit knackered the day after haha, but i dont think you need to have any experience kayaking to be able to do this trip. The sunset was stunning.

If want to do something different around Dubrovnik you should definitely try kayaking! And if you don't want to go through all the kayak tours available in Dubrovnik, let save you the trouble, X-Adventures is satisfaction guaranteed!
We were very lucky to do the tour with Dan, he is funny, knowledgeable of both kayaking and Dubrovnik history, and will make absolutely sure we will have a safe and wonderful time!
Dan will start be giving you all the equipment for the tour which includes a wetsuit, life vest, dry bag, easy access container, etc, then he will give you some tips about kayaking, the sea, and what the tour will include. After that you will be given a kayak and a paddle, and Dan will make sure you get safely into the sea. After that you just have to enjoy a lovely kayaking experience with some stops for Dubrovnik history, a snack on the beach, and the much anticipated wine!

“ Stunning & Worth it! ”
Our guide Eddie gave us the choice of going around Lokrum island or taking a more steady tour enjoying the views. We personally wanted to enjoy it more with a chilled atmosphere as were not huge fitness junkies. But the rest of the group wanted to go all around, so we did. Can be tough going at times but Eddie was lovely stopping & giving us a chance to catch our breath. We stopped off in the cave for a swim & sandwich. And travelled back towards the bay. All the stops we made Eddie talked us through the history of Dubrovnik & Old town which was great. After we watched the sun go down in the kayak we went back into the bay to get dry and warm and enjoyed a lovely little bottle of wine. Not so much a wine tasting but still as lovely.

“ Great experience ”
We really enjoyed this, it was my first time kayaking and we all got to go in double kayaks which was helpful. Our guide Dan was very funny (cheeky!) and told us a lot about the history of Dubrovnik and Lokrum. The safety briefing and information given at the start was also very thorough. During the tour, the waves were pretty bad in some parts but we had loads of breaks to help with this. There was a break in the middle where everyone got sandwiches and a chance to snorkel with the equipment provided. You also get given a large dry bag and dry bucket at the start for your kayak. The only thing I would recommend is that dry jackets are provided as I saw other companies had these and I was frozen! Thank you for the lovely experience :)

“ Beautiful way to take in the Dubrovnik sunset! ”
The kayak trip was a great experience - we got very lucky with the weather. The water was warm and calm, and the sunset was gorgeous! We kayaked 7.5 kms, but it was not too strenuous. There were breaks to take pictures of the scenery and to swim (with snacks included), although the swimming spot was pretty crowded with other kayaking groups, but when we watched the sunset we were all by ourselves and had a great view! The wine served after the kayak trip was a great end to the experience!

“ Kayaking in beautiful surroundings with a great guide ”
We went for the sunset kayak trip from 4pm till 7pm. Our host and guide Mario was pleasant, knowledgeable, instructive and helpful throughout. He took us off the beaten track to a more private bay to swim and snorkel. He told us about Lokrum island and gave us a brief history of the conflict in 1991. We kayaked around 7km and it was a fantastic experience, thoroughly recommended. The best thing we’ve done while in Croatia and we wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. Thank you Mario for helping to make it a special time.

“ Unmissable sunset experience ”
I was very apprehensive about sea kayaking but this turned out to be an unforgettable and safe adventure thanks to our guide Eddie and his apprentice Giovanni. The 7.5 tour paddling around the island of Otok Lokrum was entirely manageable and enjoyable for a 50something like myself. The four of us in our two kayaks managed to keep up with the party all the way. Watching the beautiful sunset over the Old Town and the sea at the end of the trip was truly magical. The wine at the end was very good too. All in all an excellent adventure. Thank you so much Eddie and X Adventure.

“ Sunset kayaking ”
We did the sunset kayak tour with Eddy.
It was a good group size and plenty of time to rest along the way.
Kayaking was great and a stop off on Lokrum to swim in a cave was fun.
The tour guide didn't really seem to like his job or Croatia and wasn't too professional with some of his comments which was a shame.
But the sunset was beautiful.

“ Highlight of the trip! ”
My partner booked this for my birthday as a surprise evening out during our stay at dubrovnik, upon arrival the staff where very welcoming and conversational, after a briefing and a description of the tour we got straight to it. due to the sea being a bit rough we didn't go around the island however this didn't effect the experience, nikoli was the main tour guide and provided a comical and informative history of dubrovnik. the tour led us to a cave whith a small beech that gave us the chance to have a break and a sandwich that they provided. while on the beech snorkeling gear is provided for use when having a swim offering an amzing view of the sea floor and the fish swimming around. after heading back and seeing the beautiful sunset, local wine is provided for a social drink with the others from the group. my partner asked them if they offer any birthday options, while enjoying the wine the lads from the tour came over with a cake and extra wine while sining happy birthday. They proceeded to spend the evening with us and others it was an amazing evening and the guys that work there really did make it.

We booked the sunset tour with wine. The tour was great, we had a great guide who took us around the Lokrum island with the kayak. We went snorkeling for a bit although the cave was quite crowded. We picked the perfect moment to leave and see the sunset. Only minus was the group size and that they scheduled us earlier and then we had to wait for another group to retun. Thanks to our guide, sry don’t recall the name, also for the history catch up on Dubrovnik.

“ An amazing adventure ”
This was an amazing adventure. The X-Adventure crew is kind, respectful and takes safety very seriously. You board two-people kayaks and go kayaking the Adriatic Sea, watching the beautiful coast from the water. You rest in a small rocky beach, have a snack and then go back kayaking in time to see the sun set in the sea. It is important to mark that this is not an activity for everyone. I struggled paddling alone in a kayak with my 7 years old daughter, the sea was rough and windy. Having said that, it was an incredible adventure and I would not change a thing. It was my choice to go do it and I take full responsibility for the tiredness. I highly recommend this company. Philip was great and the other guy who's name I don't remember, was amazing as well (very thoughtful of my tiredness).

“ Beautiful but could be a bit better!! ”
Really pleased we did this! It was a lovely experience and the staff were delightful and helpful. It was not too strenuous and thoroughly enjoyable to be out and see the City from another viewpoint. The girl who took us was quite quiet, but informative when we stopped, which we did on a few occasions.
We used the small dry-pot were were offered, just to store towels, phone etc...though we did use the camera a lot! Worth making sure it is waterproof, just incase!
The stop in the caves was fun, though trying to go for a swim was a challenge...firstly there were so many kayaks being moved in and out of the cave that you have to be very careful to avoid them. Secondly the masks/snorkels we were given were not good & not worth using. The snack also could have been better.
Paddling back in as the sun was setting was magical...though I would liked to have stayed out just a little longer. One of our team, a solo paddler, appeared to get left behind by the crowd, though he didn't mind and nor did we as we waited for him to catch up with our kayak.
Back at base, we were invited to try the local wine, which was very pleasant to finish an enjoyable outing.

“ Very Good Tour ”
y girlfriend and I did the sunset tour a few days ago with Eddie. Eddie is very entertaining and knowledgeable, and was a fantastic guide throughout the 3+ hour tour. We are both in our mid- to late- twenties and found the kayaking piece the perfect balance of fun and challenging. However, we're both still confused about the first stop of the tour, which was a small beach that was so densely packed with kayakers and people that there was literally no more room to fit another kayak on shore. Eddie apologized and noted that the beach was not normally like that, but nonetheless, that was about 20-30 minutes of wasted time. To be fair, we also took the tour on a beautiful Friday night during peak tourist season, so we should have expected crowds. If what Eddie said was true about the crowded beach being a fluke, then this is a five-star tour.

In short: do the sunset tour! We enjoyed immensely. The X - Adventure team was very professional, very well organized and Nicola was a wonderful guide on the water! In the course of three hours we paddled roughly 8 km, stopped for a snack and some snorkeling at a little cave and returned to a breathtaking sunset! Was really looking forward to this tour. Great communication before the tour via email.
Unfortunately the organisation was a bit chaotic as we were getting ready with what seemed like a number of different companies; quite easy to get lost from your group in the crowds.
The beach we arrived at was lovely....just absolutely rammed with a number of different tours.
Went around lokrum and back which was nice. Wine was ok.
Was just expecting a slightly better experience given the great reviews on here. Unfortunately our experience didn't quite meet up to the high quality reviews of other people.
Maybe it was just an off evening but would not do again.

This activity was one of the highlights of my trip to Dubrovnik. Lots of kayaking, staff are friendly and very funny. The ‘’snack’’ turned out to be a bread roll and fruit (veggie option even available) which we ate on the beautiful cave beach. Staff provided snorkelling gear which I recommended using. I would note that the kayaking is quite strenuous so rest up beforehand! When we got back to Dubrovnik we celebrated our efforts with lots of local wine (really there was so much available). All the guests chatted and it was a nice social end to the outing. Great for couples, families and solo travellers!

Regardless of the weather conditions, our guides Edi, Mateo & Darko (sure I spelt most of those incorrectly, apologies) were amazing and I wouldn't fault them at all. They were helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and making jokes, but always safe. I felt safe with them. We went on the trip to an island and got a snack (veggie option available) and then went snorkelling in a secret beach/cave area. Once we got back we had quite a bit of wine too, provided by an excellent bartender. All in all, I loved it and can't wait to do it next time I'm there! Thanks guys :) Roxanne

“ Caring and professional tourguides ”
We went on a kayak tour today with the lovely Eddy and matteo today and not only were they professional in their teaching first timers (us), they were also really funny and entertaining and knowledgeable about the history of dubrovnik.
Unfortunately I fell sick during the early part of the kayak tour and matteo guided us back to the beach where the lovely Dan waited for us and helped look after me.
All three men were just always on the lookout for me and ensured that we were ok. On top of all that, they still gave my partner wine and a partial refund which we totally did not expect.
These guys will go above and beyond and will ensure that even if you fall sick like I did, that you will still have a good time (and learn alot about the history).
I couldn't recommend them enough!

“ Great fun but not for the faint of heart 😂 ”
Lots of paddling, some snorkling, some munching, some drinking, sprinkled with top bants from the tour guides. Would get rescued from a sea storm again/10.

“ Beautiful way to experience Dubrovnik ”
Kayaking was quite a workout, but worth the sunset views and private beach time. The wine at the end was a nice treat (not necessarily wine tasting though). The guides are energetic and fun. The guides provide you with a bag to store all your belongings and a secure waterproof bin to keep your camera/electronics accessible and safe. The informational/tour component wasn't the most informative, but then again, that's not whyI was necessarily drawn to this tour. The kayaking itself was the highlight, and this tour delivered on that! Thanks for a fun ending to my time in Croatia!

“ A great time ”
This was a lot of fun. It's quite a workout, but our guide, Matteo, was amazing and very informative. The cave gets very busy with other tour operators, but Matteo did his best to keep us apart from the swarm and ensure our small group had a nice private tour. Watching the sunset from the water is not something I will easily forget. Thanks, Matteo!

“ Amazing sunset ”
Brilliant couple of hours on the sea with breaks and a snack at the cave. We stopped to watch the sunset which was amazing!! You get to learn a little bit of history along the way. Lovely trip!

“ Sunset kayaking and wine tasting ”
My wife and I did the sunset kayaking and wine tasting during our stay in Dubrovnik. It was awesome. Our guide was friendly and gave us a little insight into the surrounding area. The wind was up a little for our trip but it was still a fairly easy paddle around. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to get out for a paddle, nice sunset and some great views.

“ The best thing I’ve done so far in Dubrovnik! ”
We went on the sunset sea kayaking tour on the second evening of our stay in Dubrovnik. The guides Matteo and Edi were so knowledgable of the city and delivered the tour in a fun, bitesize way over the stops. The sea swimming/diving/snorkelling in the private cave was awesome and the wine tasting at the end was a great way to chat to the rest of the group. I’m not the fittest person, and my partner was constantly making jokes in the run up to how he’d be doing all of the work, but even I could competently keep a good pace. Even so, the guides are great and keep to the pace of the slowest at the back. I’d 110% recommend this to anyone considering and will be returning when I’m next back in Dubrovnik!

Went on the sunset trip with Marta and she was amazing! She was helpful, told great stories, and encouraged us along the way. I would definitely go back.

“ A-MA-ZING ”
We went tonight with Mario and Marta and we had an amazing time.
The kayaking was physical but at a relaxed pace. The views were out of this world- and the stop to swim in the cave was awesome. Mario was a great tour guide and so charismatic. Both he and Marta did their best to educate us about Dubrovnik too which was great. Wine was good but barely an afterthought as the kayaking itself was so amazing. Anybody who goes should do this!!!

“ Amazing experience ”
My first time kayaking and couldn’t have chosen a better tour! Edi And Marta were absolutely amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. They gave us a brief orientation to start with and then off we went. After 8 km of paddling, visiting two cool caves, a bit of snorkeling and swimming later, we were greeted by one of the most beautiful sunsets ever. Will definitely do this again on my next trip to Croatia!

“ Stop reading and just book it now! ”
We went on the sunset kayaking tour with Dan and it was the best thing we did in our week in Dubrovnik. You have two to a kayak and you get all the necessary equipment - including a dry-bag and box for phones etc. Just remember sunblock as you will burn without it!
Dan was our guide and he was brilliant. Laid-back, but took it at an easy pace, making sure that everyone stayed as a group. The kayaking itself isn't hard work, but you obviously need to be reasonably physically fit, as it's 7.5km and takes around three hours. There are lots of breaks though, water is provided and a sandwich midway through.
Dan had lots of interesting stories about the various places you go past, but the most affecting was when he told us about the siege during the war and his own personal story.
In summary, I can't recommend this enough and I haven't even mentioned the sea caves, dodging cruise ships, snorkelling, GoT references, nudist beaches, the beautiful sunset from the water and so much more!
Book it now!

“ Possibly the most memorable night in Dubrovnik! ”
Don't make the mistake of skipping out! Went with my girlfriend and had an amazing time! You are provided with everything you need! As mentioned you get a dry bag and box for phones and cameras. The kayak journey is amazing as are the beaches and caves visited. The wine drinking was epic... much more an open bar then small samples! Our guide was Edi, your super lucky if you get him!

“ Best thing we did in Dubrovnik ”
We booked the Sunset tour because we thought it sounded the nicest of the bunch.. plus the wine tasting!
The instructors were all really nice and charismatic guys with very good English. We had a guy called EDI (myyy man) who took us off around Lokrum island, stopping to tell us about the history of Dubrovnik, and really made it inclusive to everyone in the group, he was happy to answer any questions.. no matter how stupid they were. Great views! Cool cove!
Then after, the wine testing ended up being more like wine drinking and it was just really fun, ended up having our best night in Dubrovnik hanging out with the instructors and people from our kayaking tour, they were all really good guys, trustworthy and funny!
If I ever came back I would 100% do this again, great fun!

“ Amazing Sunset Kayak Trip! ”
We looked around a few different companies before finding X-Adventures, and we were absolutely thrilled with our experience with our tour guide Edi! Edi was very knowledgable about Dubrovnik and was helpful in teaching how to kayak for beginners before the tour. We visited two caves and had the opportunity to snorkel, cliff jump, and swim during our kayak trip. They provided fantastic sandwiches during the trip and local wine at the end. We paddled back to the meeting point at the end while overlooking the sunset, my friend and I had a phenomenal experience! The beaches you visit are very rocky, so investing in swim shoes may be helpful, but we went barefoot and were fine for the short time on the beach.

“ Great price for an incredible experience! Absolutely worth it! ”
This experience for me personally was one of my favorite things I was able to do in Dubrovnik. You’re able to get some incredible views of the Old Town wall with a beautiful sunset. Truly one of the more beautiful places I’ve ever visited.
While on the kayak, it got a bit tiring but the tour is designed in a way that breaks up the path to give you rests. During those rests includes historic stories about Dubrovnik and also enjoying a natural small sea cove. There at the cove you’ll be able to snorkel so bring your GoPro! They’ll also provide snacks for you during breaks so they truly take care of you and want you to have a great time! My girlfriend and I have only had one prior experience with kayaking so don’t be afraid that this would be too rigorous of an experience.
Because the weather can dictate your experience, my girlfriend and I were in contact with them the whole time while the weather was questionable (rain clouds in the distance) and they were very helpful and accommodating, offering other options at the time. It was very easy to communicate with them. Just give them an email and they’ll respond quickly. We were lucky enough to have the rain pass and the skies clear which allowed us to experience the sunset tour. Absolutely great service!
Lastly, they provide dry bags for towels and such, while also providing a water proof buoy container for your phones for easy access. The wine was also good! They picked a local Croatian wine. Most of this information can be found on the brochure but I wanted to reiterate these specific aspects of the tour because they truly made it easy for us to have a great time.
All in all, there is a reason why this kayaking tour company has mostly 5 stars. I haven’t read the other ratings which should have some merit so go ahead and be thorough in your review readings. But if you were to ask me, I would say absolutely do it!

“ Great time and stunning sunset! ”
We had a great time with Edi and Marta! They went at a good pace and stopped whenever there was a beautiful picture opportunity. The places you can swim at were very nice. It’s a fun kayak to do, and see Dubrovnik from the Sea. Edi was extremely knowledgeable in the history of Dubrovnik/Croatia which made the tour even more enjoyable. I highly recommend doing the sunset kayak tour with Edi or Marta!

“ Fantastic perspective of Dubrovnik with extra stories ”
we took a trip which was supposed to end up with sunset view on Dubrovnik. Everything was well beyond expectations. Our guide - Edi, had plenty of things to talk about, some fun facts about Dubrovnik and surrounding areas, some history of it etc. What is most important you can ask like anything, so you get a tour guide only on water and with better view :). Don't mind that you are not experienced kayaker, the guide makes a lot of stops, keeps the group together and give some time for conversations and taking photos. The tour route takes you to few interesting places, a beach, a cave where you can spend some active time with snorkel (provided by the company), jumping from rocks and boulders. Of course at the very end as promised there is a perfect view on Dubrovnik - sunset edition. As soon as you get to the finish, wet or dry - doesn't matter, wine tasting is waiting for you, which is a pleasant accent. Thanks Edi for the trip! Totally worth it!

I went on the sunset tour as a bit of a last minute whim. It was the BEST decision I made, the tour itself was great and Dan was very knowledgeable. If you do get a chance to to a kayaking tour i seriously recommend. If you can, see if Dan is leading the tour. He wont disappoint you.

“ Great kayak tour ”
We had a great time paddling for awesome views of Dubrovnik city, caves and Lokrum. I was worried about the cold in April, but it turned out fine when you are under the sun and out of water. Our guide, Dan, was really fun and helpful. He told stories about the place and Croatia. He even towed us on our way back to the bay as we were falling behind, in exchange for a 5-star review (so here it is!!). Just kidding. Dan and the tour worth 10-star each! Highly recommend to people who want some exercise while enjoying the spectacular views!

“ Best part of our trip! ”
We were SO excited for our sunset kayak tour and it did not disappoint.
Darko, our guide knew his stuff - he was responsible for our group and took his job very seriously, we felt totally safe in his hands even when the sea got a bit choppy. Also, ask him ANYTHING about his home and the history and he can tell you.
Such a great experience, great guide, great sandwich, great wine - would do it again in a heartbeat.
Also great value for money considering Dubrovnik is quite an expensive place.

“ Best Thing We Have Ever Done! ”
We took the Sunset kayak tour around Dubrovnik yesterday. What can I say? It was amazing, even for a fully paid up scaredy cat like me. Lovely stable kayaks, great stop for swimming and a sandwich, stunning views, fantastic guides with great info, and so much kindness to us personally. Can't thank them enough for an amazing experience. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

“ Will Do It Again! ”
We booked the sunset kayak way before we arrive in Dubrovnik. We had few email back and forth due to schedule change and they replied promptly.
The entire experience was very challenging but once you've done it the reward will last forever! After the first 20 minutes non-stop rowing, our tour guide stopped and gave us option to take the comfy route, or continue on the regular route, that is to circle around Lekum Is. This is my first time ever kayaking not to mention it is at sea. However, because the calm water it is actually quite easy. With the confident that we have two guides, one in the front and one at the end, all I need was concentrating on our own kayak.
We eventually stopped at a Cave where there were already lots people from other companies. They seemed like having an agreement how long each team would stay so the beach won't get too crowded. We stopped for cliff jumping, snorkeling, and to our surprise, the break also came with a sandwich and a bottle of water!
Once we headed back out, it was this amazing sunset awaited for us. It was quite breathtaking by seeing a sunset and the old city wall together. At the moment, I was really glad that I completed the whole regular route. If I have a chance, I'll do it again.
Oh, forgot to mention that toward the end of the kayak, they offered a bucket of wine bottles for everyone to enjoy.

“ Could not have been any better ”
Booked the sunset kayak tour with wife and 9yr old boy through Direct Bookers - 550kunar for all three. The guide Darian was super nice and knowledgeable, everything was as described on booking website. Quick introduction and explanation from guides, 20 minute kayak, then break, some stories from Darian, more kayak then on to caves, private beach, snorkelling and around Lokrum island for the glorious sunset. It is physically demanding (our kayak had 2 x adults and 1 x kid) so be prepared to put the effort in. My family have only done kayaking once or twice but managed no problem. Up there with one of the best things we've done as a family. We all loved it. Arriving back into 'kings landing' at the end for a seemingly endless supply of Croatian wine was the perfect end. Big shout to Dan for keeping our glasses full and Darian for all the great storytelling. Seek out X-Adventure tours, 100% recommend. They also provide water, sandwiches, waterproof bags, so all you need to do is turn up. Had great craic with Dan too, sent us home with a complimentary bottle of Croatia's finest.
Ps - if you like what they do, give the guys a tip. We did, but did not notice anyone else do so and it's a tough enough gig :-)

“ Darko and his team at X-Adventure Sea Kayaking is the only outfit to use! ”
We stumbled upon Darko and his X-Adventure Sea Kayaking company when we were having a drink at a small cove and saw his kayakers coming in from an early evening trip around the island Lokrum. We went out the next night around 5pm and finished after sunset at 9pm or so. Our guide, Darijan was really a great guy and funny and full of information about Dubrovnik, the history and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip with him as we stopped numerous times to listen and rest, etc. The sandwiches provided were extremely fresh made that day, and we HIGHLY recommend this company. Darko is one of the owners and one of the original Sea Kayak companies and you can trust him and he is also a funny guy with a nice sense of humor. He also sent us to an EXCELLENT restaurant about 4 miles outside of town and I am trying to remember the name of the place. It was so much better than any of the touristy and pricey places inside the walls in Dubrovnik. We only had 6 or 7 of us in our tour, we were lucky and the person attention was fantastic. My wife and 16 year old son and 20 year old daughter really had a great time and dinner tasted so good when we were done.

“ Must-do in Dubrovnik! ”
A lot of the reviews on here and on other tours suggest sea kayaking is very hard work; I am overweight and extremely unfit and I managed it just fine! The sea was perfectly calm on the day my brother and I did this, perhaps that's why. The guide stopped regularly to let us rest and have water. My shoulders are a little achy today, the next day, but that's all. I had never kayaked and I'm not an active person but I enjoyed every single minute! It's even inspired me to check out kayaking near my home as I want to try more!
Being out on the open water was just amazing. We did the morning tour; I would definitely recommend this or the sunset one as I think the sun would be horrendous in the middle of the day!
You will need:
- phone/camera - you will want pics! (Waterproof floating barrel provided for valuables)
- cash (they don't accept cards)
- also recommend a pair of swim shoes or decent sandals you don't mind getting wet (i wore flip flops and traversing the slippy rocks and pebbly beach at the stop point was tricky!)
Our guide, Antonio, was knowledgeable and engaging, and best of all funny.
I really cannot recommend this enough!!

“ So much fun!!! ”
A group of 4 of us did the sunset kayak tour along with a fairly big group of others and 2 tour guides. We were luckily enough to have nice people in our group and the tour guides were great! Lovely and knowledgable about Dubrovnik and Lokrum island. The had good sense of humours too which made it even more fun. They showed us safe places to cliff jump and stopped regularly so we could take pictures and to tell us more about the different things we could see. We kayaked to a lovely cove that is only accessible by boat, where we were given sandwiches, drinks and snorkels! It was a great place to swim and snorkel. The overall trip was around 3 hours long. Well worth the money and was a huge highlight of our trip!!

“ Amazing Kayaking in Dubrovnik at 50 ”
Six of us took the sunset sea kayak trip in tandem kayaks and we all thought it was an amazing 3 hours!
We were warned was a bit choppy but I guess this added to the adventure of it all where we kayaked around Lokrum island, into caves and stopped off for a sandwich in a small beach cave for the chance to rest up, swim and snorkel.
The tour leader Daniel did a great job and both guys were really friendly, helpful and made sure no one was left behind.
Totally recommend, just make sure you have your sea legs if it's rough.
