Guided tour with mask, snorkel and fins in the crystalline clear blue waters of Paraggi bay in the marine reserve of Portofino.
Meet your guide in Niasca, a sandy beach nestled in the vegetation of the Mediterranean Sea, next to Paraggi Bay, famous for its crystal clear blue water. After getting settled in the outdoor sports center and supplied of the necessary snorkeling equipment (all sizes available) you will be introduced by your local guide to marine and environmental notions. Comfortably sitting on the terrace, through pictures you will be briefed on the great variety of fish species and marine plants you will come across while snorkeling.
The environmental guide will lead you underwater searching for hidden treasures in Portofino’s Marine Protected Area. During the first part of the excursion inside Niasca’s bay, you will swim above one of the most extended Posidonia meadow of the area which together with the near cliff, hosts many species such as tube-worms, starfish, pinna nobilis, posidonia, sponges and mollusks. Swimming forward in the Bay of Paraggi the coast section gets rich of fish species, such as sea breams, gilt-head bream, sea bass, moray eel, damsel and many more.
This bay, forbidden to boat traffic is therefor completely safe for swimming. Swimming knowledge required.
