Catch your own fish and eat it!
We sail out of Grundarfjörður and then get up close to the protected island of Melrakkaey – a veritable haven for sea birds and great for birdwatching. As we head back to port, you get a chance to try your hand at sea-angling. All angling equipment is supplied.
We head out for the nearby island, Melrakkaey, a nature reserve where many birds are free to nest, such as puffins, shags, cormorants, kittiwakes and more. We sail close to the cliffs to get the best view and to photograph these beautiful ocean birds. One of the highlights is when we move into deeper waters for some sea-angling. Each passenger is given a fishing rod to try hook a fish or two and for this, all necessary fishing equipment is provided. It is action and excitement on board as the thrill of the chase is felt with passengers trying to catch a big one. The guides are always watching out for whales and if any are spotted, we´ll head towards them for a closer look.
