About this tour
About 10,000 years ago, at the end of the last ice-age, massive glaciers formed Norway’s rugged landscapes and fjords. Some of the world’s most spectacular outdoor scenery can be enjoyed from atop Preikestolen and Trolltunga, which were both formed as melting glaciers scraped their way toward sea-level. Preikestolen clings 604 meters above the Lysefjord, and offers some of the best views Fjord Norway has to offer. Trolltunga, or the troll’s tongue, is a long rock that juts out from a cliffside 700 meters above the north side of Ringedalsvatnet lake. The landmarks share the distinction of being two of Norway’s most popular tourist destinations. In 2018, approximately 300,000 hikers are expected to find their way up to Preikestolen, which is Norway’s most popular outdoor destination. Although much less accessible than Preikestolen, Trolltunga expects to attract more than 100,000 visitors in 2018.
During much of the winter and springtime, Fjord Norway’s majestic mountaintops are blanketed in thick layers of snow. Those who venture up the trails to Preikestolen and Trolltunga during the off-season encounter peace and solitude unlike anywhere else. Our professional guides are trained to safely maneuver rapidly-changing weather and trail conditions*, and carry with them all necessary navigation, safety, first-aid, and outdoor winter equipment.
Our package tours include overnight accommodation, breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Let us take care of the hassle and free yourself to fully enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
*Please be advised that hiking to Preikestolen and Trolltunga during the off-season without an experienced guide is not recommended.
