You will be surprised of the level of wilderness - and wildlife - you can find in the forests of Østmarka. A large part of the area is a protected nature reserve.
Østmarka is easy accesible from Oslo. This is a beautiful tour and a wonderful, slow adventure. If you go in May, September or October, you will most likely meet few or no other people during the tour, in particular if you avoid the weekends. But even in summer we seldom meet other canoes inside the nature reserve.
