Staring at the waterfront by Salamanca, we start by walking via St. Davids Park, Parliament House and Collins Street. We take the Cascades Track behind the brewery and into the foothills of kunanyi / Mt Wellington.
We enter the Wellington Park reserve at 'old farm road' and take the Myrtle Gully Track, our guides personal favorite on the whole mountain! Pass flowing fern glades and waterfalls before arriving at Junction Cabin.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at the historic Springs site, the former hospitality centre of the mountain, with a renewed vibe and coffee shop, the springs is a rewarding break before the final push to summit!
Taking the Pinnacle track we gradually make our way to the Dolerite Rock that defines the mountain! Pass by a recent boulder fall as we make our way to the final track junction where we finish by hiking the iconic Zig-Zag trail. Here the flora changes into sub-alpine and alpine plants found nowhere else on earth.
