“ Amazing Experience! ”
Wonderful experience in Vatnajökull glacier, the largest ice cap in Iceland! We've learned a lot about volcanic activities, history of the region and legends. Many thanks to our guide Ian for his smile and his formidable knowledge! ;)

“ Stunning glacial walk; sad about the weather! ”
We subscribed for a tour of the glacier and northern lights in Iceland last Wednesday 9th January through your tour company.
This is just to tell you that Max Poncet was very helpful as our guide. He was proactive and positive, constantly explaining what we were doing and the geography and history of the landscape. Thank you Max for your time and help.
(It was not Max's fault that the cloud cover prevented us from seeing the northern lights!}

“ Excellent tour company ”
We booked the 2 day glacier hike and Northern Lights tour from Reykjavik. Jon was our tour guide and he was outstanding. My daughter and I had in our short time in Iceland already used 2 other tour companies, the first, Reykjavik Sightseeing, was a huge bus with a terrible tour guide around the Golden Circle- I would not use this company again, the second was a northern lights evening with Super Jeep, which was fantastic with great guides and the third was this tour with Icelandic Mountain Guides.
We were VERY lucky to have been assigned Jon as our guide. He spoke perfect English and was so knowledgeable about Icelandic history. He was extremely patient and helped with all the safety equipment we needed for our Glacier hike. He taught us all exactly how to walk on the glacier and as a result, none of us had any problem at all. The hike was approximately 5 miles and it was so much fun. We also visited the black sand beach and a few other spots which i forget the name. The next day we went to Diamond beach and started the long trek home, however instead of just wanting to get home, Jon stopped a couple more times so we could see more of the beautiful waterfalls. This was not on the itinerary, so he went out of the way to make our experience even more special. I highly recommend this company and Jon (if you can get him as your guide).

“ Glacier walk and northern lights ”
Yep, you climb from the bottom all the way to the top of a glacier. The view from the top is nothing less than nature at its perfection. From there a delicious Icelandic dinner, and yep, we saw northern lights on the drive back. Perfect small group experience, start to finish.

“ Amazing experience ”
My friend and I booked this trip online. We had never been to Iceland before and this was our first day trip whilst there. The trip was absolutely made by our excellent guide, Hendrik. He knew all about the geology, history and myths of Iceland and was extremely informative at all times. It seemed to be a real pleasure for him to share his knowledge with us. There were only four of us on the trip that day as we were pretty much at the end of the season, i.e. Early April. We felt as though we all had time to do exactly what we wanted at each stop off. The two waterfalls were amazing and we also thoroughly enjoyed the traditional meal at the Hotel Anna, which consisted of epic portions of two different types of soup and a lovely creamy fruit syllabus type dessert. The glacier walk was the highlight and Hendrik was very conscientious about the group's safety but we all felt as though we had a proper adventure. The views were spectacular and we stopped many times for explanations of the various features.
The last part of the trip was searching for the Northern Lights but, because it did not really get dark until 10pm, Hendrik made sure we were not just sitting around until the light went. He added stop offs at extra places, so first we took a drive to the black beach and had plenty of time there. Then, after ensuring we were all happy to take another walk, we went up into the foothills to see Iceland's oldest outdoor swimming pool, heated by warm water piped from the thermal springs, which was very interesting and in a beautiful setting. Then he really tried very hard to help us see the Lights, going above and beyond in terms of the time he spent even when weather conditions meant it was looking unlikely. We did get to see them for a couple of minutes thanks to his perseverance. We were dropped off at the hotel in the early hours of the morning, feeling tired but very excited about our experience. What a great advert for Iceland. Thank you Hendrik!

“ Fun, exciting, and exquisite scenery! ”
My husband and I came to Iceland as a one year anniversary present to each other. Out first full day in Iceland was spent with Pascale (our guide) and a small group of people. I was a little anxious at first about being on top of a glacier that was covering an active volcano . Pascale made the trip so fun and easy, I got some beautiful photos of the views we saw.
We also were able to stop and see some waterfalls, the night ended with a delicious meal and some great company! We were also lucky enough to see the northern lights, the display of lights were incredible (which I said several times... /-:, :-)). My husband and I could not have gotten a better tour guide and group of people to spend 12 hours with. We are hoping to be back on a layover to Europe to do a 7 day hike. Thank you so much for making such wonderful memories to take back with us ☺️.

“ Absolutely fabulous ”
We were collected from our hotel by minibus where we were greeted by our guide Pascale. During the journey to the glacier, Pascale kept us informed of the day ahead and answered any questions we may have. We were a group of 10 including our guide, of mixed ages and abilities.
We stopped for refreshments on route and were advised to take a chocolate bar or similar with us on our glacier walk. Once at the glacier we were fitted with crampons and ice pick and off we went. Pascale was a font of information and we had plenty of photo stops. As a group we had all bonded and although none of us had met before I felt that we all became firm friends. The glacier itself was amazing and the weather was perfect.
Later that evening we went to hotel Anna for Icelandic lamb soup and then out to look for the Northern lights, and what an amazing show we had. I would highly recommend this trip and thank you to Pascale for a great day

“ Glacier and Northern Lights - Such a Great Tour! ”
I admit we got really lucky with the weather - clear and sunny. But, this was a spectacular, easy way to spend a winter day in Iceland. Margaret was a fantastic guide, and a boss driving the bus on the icy roads. We got to stop and see some of the waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. We arrived at the glacier mid-afternoon and they allowed us to break into two groups (fast and slow) and explore the glacier with a guide. My group went with Marco; hiking the glacier was one of the coolest experiences of my life. We had a nice meat soup dinner at a local restaurant, then spent time watching the northern lights. If you really want to see them, you need to have a good camera. Some of the folks on the tour brought them and we could really see the cool colors. I would absolutely do this tour again.

“ Glacier Walk and Northern Lights ”
If I could give them 6 stars I would!
12 hour trip. Very fun. Minivan to Glacier. Lots of interesting scenery on the way.
Spent 3 hours on the glacier hiking. Very interesting. Like nothing I had seen before. The clamp-on spikes make it easy to walk up or downhill on ice.
We had a traditional Icelandic meal for dinner. Primarily a meat soup/stew. Excellent. There was also a very good asparagus/onion soup?
Then we saw an illuminated waterfall and chased the Northern Lights.
Our guide had interesting stories of world events involving Iceland. He also played some excellent Icelandic pop music.
You don't have to be in great shape to do the walk. I was concerned. 51 y/o. Desk job. Seriously overweight but I do a bit of rowing machine and calisthenics.
My college aged son thought it was very easy.

“ Great day out and saw a lot in a day. ”
We had a great day out with Icelandic Mountain Tours walking up a glacier, seeing sites along the South Coast and looking for the Northern Lights (and finding them!).
Our guide was really informative about Iceland- that they grow 60% of fruit and veg and have very cheap water and energy. It was great to stop at the waterfalls before and after the glacier walk and we got some great shots.
The glacier hike itself was a great experience, but a little tougher than we were expecting. We could both manage it, but we weren't expecting to walk up further than any other groups had done during the day and the walking towards the end was pretty tough.
After the walk the soup at Hotel Anna was lovely and exactly what was needed after the walk. We had a good experience looking for the Northern Lights afterwards (and we found them!). It was pretty cold though - so worth packing an extra pair of thermals and thermal sock as you'll probably get sweaty on the glacier walk and that will feel cold when you're standing around looking at the lights!
Overall really good trip, so thank you!

“ Search no more, you found the tour company of your dreams!! ”
This company is amazing and their guides are phenomenal. My husband and I did the glacier walk and northern lights tour and we were so impressed by the guide. First of all the glacier tour was just amazing. We were on the glacier for several hours exploring and even had the privilege of watching the sunset while on the glacier. The guide took us all over and we got to see some really incredible things. Then we did the northern lights portion. First of all, the northern lights are illusive and rare to see AND it was overcast that night so very little clear sky. That didn't stop our guide though...he drove all over the coast looking for pockets of clear sky and he found it. We got VERY lucky and saw the northern lights twice that night! Great company, great guides, and great experience. I highly recommend!!

“ Best Tour of Our Visit! ”
We booked the Glacier Hike with Northern Lights for our last day in Iceland. The tour was by far the best experience we had during our stay. Our tour guide, Pad, was awesome! The nicest, most informative guide and really a cool guy to hang out with for the day. He picked us up along with the others in our group and drove us down along the south coast to the glacier we would be hiking. Along the way we stopped at his favorite waterfall, Gljufrabui, which was surrounded by rock. It was the most beautiful waterfall we saw! The hike itself on the glacier was awesome and the weather was beyond perfect, clear blue skies and warm. He took us up to explore some of the larger crevasses and walked us out to the end to look down into it. He explained some interesting facts about the glaciers and the concerns of them rapidly disappearing. After the hike we made an additional stop at Reynisfjara Beach to see an amazing sunset. We then went to Hotel Anna for some delicious lamb soup. After dinner we headed back towards Reykjavik watching for any northern lights that may show. The forecast for the lights was extremely high and we were lucky enough to see them. Everything about this tour was perfect and we cannot recommend this tour company, the tour, and our guide Pad enough!!!!!

“ Outstanding adventure ”
I booked this tour after much research. I was traveling with a friend and looking for a safe adventure with a local guide. We couldn’t have been happier! Margaret a local, was our guide. She was so sweet, knowledgeable and full of local information and stories, including one about her grandmother (pancake champion). She went out of her way to make us all comfortable, had what we needed and was patient with those who were less able. She even bought champagne for a toast at the glacier where our new friends got engaged 10 years prior. She searched out northern lights, and drove safely on ice covered roads. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who likes some adventure and time with a local. Thank you so much Margaret for an amazing 2 days.
