“ A fun thing to do! ”
My sister and I enjoyed our camel ride through the rock desert. The camels were well looked after and the guides were a lot of fun!
There was probably a few too many photos taken but as they state they donât force you into buying any.
Would recommend to anyone after a unique experience!

“ Camel Ride - Afternoon tour ”
I did this tour a week ago and it was a lot of fun. Yassine our tour guide was super friendly and made us laugh a lot. We were a group of maybe 10 people, and I believe everyone had a great time. The camels are very cute! Good memories indeed! great experience.

“ Great experience! ”
We went for afternoon tour, I think it is better because sun is not to strong, plus you have scarf over your head that really helps. Transport from riad to the place was really good and with aircon. Our guide was really nice, supportive, it was my first experience with such thing but I felt really safe. After the ride we were served with Moroccan mint tea and cookies which was great.

From the first moment we arrived - till departure the crew was all attentive, friendly, and helpful. The trip was a blast that my daughter and I made together, and our Camel drivers were charming, and very watchful over everything. “ Fabulous!!!!!!!! ”
We wanted to express our appreciation and satisfaction for the amazing excursion we booked!!!!!! It was a highlight of our trip to Morocco. Our tour guide on the camel ride, a gentleman named Yassine, was one of the best guides we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. More excursion companies and guided tours need people like him. You can’t go wrong booking this amazing tour! Great experience for a great price!

“ THIS IS A MUST! ”
This trip was the best we did all week.
Pick up time was punctual and we were driven around 30 mins away to a close by desert.
The guides were friendly, funny and spoke many languages to accommodate everyone.
The camels were well behaved and appeared to be well looked after.
After the first camel ride we had traditional pancakes and tea on our break which were delicious.
There was an option to have photographs and get them printed at the end of the trip which was a great touch to remember the day.

“ Fantastic ”
My husband and I found Dunes and Desert on TripAdvisor and I have to say, they definitely lived up to and surpassed our expectations! Our guide Yassine was awesome, he was friendly and knowledgeable with a great sense of humour. We really enjoyed learning more about Amazigh culture. The tea and lmsmn break was fantastic. It was very cool learning how the tea is made rather than just drinking it. Our camels (Karima and Fatka) were gentle and adorable. It's clear they are all well-cared for and respected. The rest of the crew was fantastic as well, I must apologise as I am terrible with names. Many thanks to ALL. We will certainly be back when in town!

“ Great experience but very touristy ”
Honestly, what made the trip was the guides! Best guide was Yassine, super friendly and hilarious. The animals were happy and the bread & tea was nice. It is very touristy though and not in a “sand dune” desert, but awesome experience!

“ amels and Pancakes!! ”
The ride was lots of fun, and the camels were very well behaved and super friendly. Out guides were all excellent, and were happy to take as many photos as we wanted, and they took a lot!! You can also purchase profession photos that were taken if you want.
No, this was not the Sahara desert, that would have been an over night trip in itself, but it was perfect for what it was, and would do this again.
They picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. The ride was about 40 min, where we then took about a 20 min break in a Berber village for some Moroccan Tea and Yummy Pancakes(Msemmen). I need to get this recipe!!. After that, it was another 30 min back to the camp site and home.
This tour was also very affordable.
Thank you Dunes and Desert!!

“ Five Stars! ”
Beyond expectation! Amazing crew, vibe and location. If you’re looking for a Moroccan camel ride experience near Marrakesh this is the place (don’t go for the places just on the streets of the city) This place picks you up at your hotel/riad and is located about 20 minutes outside main city. I only did the half day camel ride but wish I had time for the quads also, they look awesome! Worth every penny and the people are so friendly! Thankyou to Jamel, Yasswe and the whole crew!

“ Riding camels and enjoying rural Morocco. ”
Both Yassine and Kareem were excellent guides and deserve 5 stars each. Yassine even dubbed me "Hulk Hogan of Arabia!" The pancake we had was great! We learned about the tea, and how to ride camels! I loved the tea so much, I went to the Medina and bought a tea pot to make the tea at home. I would do this again and definitely recommend this to others, especially the guides. Thank you so much for the opportunity to enjoy such an activity.

“ Fun safari with mom ”
I took my mother to Marrakech for her first time in Africa and we knew a quintessential part would be a desert safari. This group gave us a lovely tour which included tea in the desert and a camel named Jackie Chan. We enjoyed meeting other guests from around the world - and a woman who worked there, who was from a tiny Canadian town next to where my mom grew up! Small world.

We booked the 2 hour Camel Ride and we had the greatest day! Everything was done so well and professional. All the hosts and people who helped with the Camels were so incredibly kind. The ride to the spot to have tea was the perfect amount of time on the camel! The tea break was awesome and then the way back was also so nice. They take pictures for you but are also so kind about taking them on your phone. It was one of our friends birthday and they made her a bouquet of flowers with palm leaves - just kind people! HIGHLY recommend!

It was a really great trip one of the best experiences in my opinion one can do in Marrakech. The team is great all of them are helpful, friendly and know what they are doing. Karim one of the guys there made sure that we were having a great time and all of our questions were answered. One of my favourite moments was when we stopped for traditional berber tea and the guys started making camels from palm tree leafs. The team is great and the trip is made so much better cause of them. I would do it again for sure.

“ Great morning in Marrakech! ”
Yassine our English guide was super friendly and inviting! He and the other guides walked beside us and chatted as we rode the camels to a local house that served great mint tea and pancakes (some of the best we had in Morocco). If you’re lucky you can ride a camel named Jackie Chan, or Zoala who is apparently instagram famous. Great way to start the day in Marrakech.

“ Yassine is an amazing guide! ”
We booked this trip last minute the night before from our hotel in Marrakech, desperate for some adventure and an escape from the centre. We were not disappointed! We ended up being the only ones on the camel tour, and were expertly led through the desert and groves by Yassine. He was thoughtful and hilarious, taking good photos, asking lots of questions about where were from, and ensuring we felt very comfortable.
Stopping for tea and pancakes at a village home was super authentic and warming- Yassine told us all about how traditional tea is brewed and why you need to take your time over making it. Our village host spoke not a word of English, but we laughed all the same about marriage and children.
Overall, this tour was the highlight of our trip to Morocco and we can not recommend it enough.

My friend and I booked this camel tour. It was the perfect amount of time to be on a camel! The employees were amazing. Thank you Yassine for such a great time! The bus promptly picked us up near our hotel. Although the weather said it would be in the 70s, it did get hot! Women should wear leggings and light clothing. They provided the head pieces and that was great! Ultimately, we had a blast conversing with the other riders and the employees. Highly recommended!

“ Camel Ride: Things to Know ”
My husband, son, and I did this tour yesterday and I was not sure what to expect. We booked the tour through the hotel and were misquoted the price as 350 dirhams. It was actually 320 dirhams per person which was well worth it; however, would have been good to know. Fortunately, we had a credit card. The pickup both form and back to hotel was very prompt.
I was not sure of what to wear as I had read various reviews. I would recommend shorts and runners. When you are arrive there is a flush toilet and small lockers to store your belongings. You will keep the key. They do have a private photographer who will take some pics throughout the journey and to buy all it is 250 MD. No pressure whatsoever. We opted not to. As culturally beautiful the garb that they put over your head is, not everyone...myself included, finds it flattering. We set off on beautiful camels. They seemed to be treated kindly which I was worried about, so found this humaneness reassuring. We set off in a long line of camels that were tied together and led by a number of guides that were at various points of the line. Most spoke minimal English, but the main guide, Yasseen, spoke excellent English and worked hard to ensure that we were all engaged and looked after. He was knowledgable and very fun friendly. The gentleman that led the pack of camels Semo was also also did an excellent job. The camels were gentle and well behaved. We rode for about 30 mins to a house in the desert. Here we were able to wash our hands and were hosted by the house owner who showed us how to make real mint tea “halal whiskey” and we ate delicious Moroccan pancakes. We laughed, were entertained by him, and enjoyed our time learning a bit of Arabic. My only suggestion, would be a little less of the Arabic lesson and an little more Morocco/Berber history. Following the ride We headed back, were shown the pictures, and were picked up by our bus. I really enjoyed the experience. Yasseen and the other guides seemed laughed and joked with one another and with us and seemed to really enjoy what they did. We were back by 1230 which opened the day up for other activities. I imagine it was also cooler!

“ Thoroughly Enjoyable ”
I booked the camel ride staring at 2pm. My hotel was just outside of Marrakech, so the organisers arranged to pick me up from my hotel for 30 Euros (I paid this on arrival at Dunes and Desert premises) which was really helpful. On arrival the team were very friendly, took us through what the afternoon would entail and offered us water as well as lockers to store any items. There was quite a large group which was nice, a mixture of families and couples, this was nice and made for a great group dynamic.
When we were ready the team tied scarfs for everybody and then we proceeded to walk to our waiting camels. This has to be one of the best experiences that I have had, having never rode a horse, donkey etc. We trekked through the desert with the Dunes and Desert team singing, cracking jokes and making us all laugh. We were able to stop for some time whilst the professional photographers took pictures of us all individually on our camels. As the description stated, we eventually stopped and entered a back garden where we were greeted by a gentleman who provided us with water and soap to wash our hands. We all sat down whilst we were served water, Moroccan tea and pancakes. After this we were back on our camels for the trek back to the Dunes and Desert premises, even though the weather was hot, this was a truly incredible experience.
The only disappointing thing for me was when the driver dropped me back to my hotel following the excursion, he had previously dropped a couple off at their hotel en route and I did not see them tip him. When we arrived at my hotel I thanked him of course and he said "no tip for your driver?" Considering I had paid 30 Euros to be picked up and dropped back to my hotel, this was slightly annoying especially when I no longer had cash on me because I had tipped a member of the team 20 Euros before I left the premises, thanking them for a good day and that the tip was for everyone (I had asked prior to tipping if this would be shared between the team that looked after us and this was confirmed).
Despite this, the camel ride itself was extremely enjoyable and I am glad I did it, a must do for anyone who visits Marrakech.

“ A must do trip if you are visiting Marrakech ”
Met outside our hotel and transported in a spacious and comfy van on time. Upon arrival we were instantly greeted by everyone and made to feel very welcome. Yassine was one of our tour guides and he was fantastic, interacted well with all the participants and made the trip very enjoyable. The half way point of the ride meant it was mint tea and pancakes which again meet by friendly locals was an enjoyable experience. Overall the trip was fantastic and I would highly recommend this trip to anyone.

“ Fantastic day out. ”
Met close to our riad, we were driven to the Dunes & Desert premises and given a warm welcome and introduced to Yassin and the other team members.
Everyone was friendly, welcoming and helpful. With suitable headwear provided to protect us from the sun, we joined 8 others at the group of camels nearby. 10 adult camels (thank you Madonna and Shakira for carrying us throughout the ride) and three young offspring took us off into the palm grove and desert-like surroundings for a few miles, with Yassin providing a running commentary, providing information about the lands, the animals and about himself. A genuinely charming, friendly group of guides.
After about an hour of camel-riding and photo opportunities, we called to the house of a local Berber family where we were treated to Moroccan tea and pancakes. Tasty refreshments and pleasant hospitality.
The trek back to HQ was equally enjoyable.
Our thanks to Yassin in particular. Pleased in particular that when we bumped into him again at Jeema Al Fna a few days later, he recognised us immediately and even remembered my wife's name. Considering the number of people that Yassin must see throughout each week at the camel ride, it is a tribute to him that he knew us again.
Altogether a wonderful day.

“ Amazing!!!! ”
The staff is extremely friendly and entertaining, especially Yassine. They were very informative about any questions we had to ask about the camels, palm grove, Morocco, etc. Yassine told us jokes and did impersonations the entire time lol. He's awesome! The tour guides walked the entire 45mins there and back while we rode camels in the desert heat!!!! They take professional pictures but also took pictures with our phones along the journey. We stopped at a house for a snack of mint tea and pancakes (soooo good). The boys who served us were extremely polite. You will be exhausted after being in the sun for 90mins total and the camel ride will leave you sore.

My partner and I booked the camel ride with Moroccan tea. It was a really nice ride and we really enjoyed the experience. The tea and pancakes were delicious. One of the guides also showed us how to write our names in Arabic which was fun. We had a lot of laughs trying to pronounce the most difficult Arabic words too.
The guides were really friendly although they didnt talk a whole lot.
One thing I think could be improved is the pickup in the morning. They didn't have my name written down and the driver didn't have any official documentation. I was a little worried I was getting into the wrong car with the wrong guide! Especially as we just met in the main square outside a cafe. It would've felt a little smoother if he had my name and his own ID from the tour company.

My friends and I booked this tour as it was recommended to us.
Overall, this was an interesting experience.
Transports easily arranged from our Riad to the venue, taxi was on time.
Upon arrival we were explained the details of the tours, got our cheche scarf and went to the camels. Lockers are provided to store valuables during the activity
The ride itself is a great experience, you're riding through a semi-desertic area and it's really different from horse or donkey riding.
Youssef, one of the guides, turned out to be a great source of information, providing us with detailed info about camels, Morocco, and anything we wanted to know about Moroccan and Berber cultures.
The other guides, however, were efficient but not as chatty, and one of them tried constantly to hit on my wife and other ladies in our group, which was fun at first but then became annoying.
The tea and snack time was very nice and I really enjoyed the local hospitality.
Return journey to the start point was uneventful.
Overall, a great experience.

“ Happy Camels! ”
I was reluctant to do this tour because I was concerned about the camels and how they might be treated. I needn't have worried. These are healthy, beautiful animals that only go out twice a day. I happened to be placed atop a camel who had given birth 6 months previously, so her adorable baby walked alongside us, nibbling at my feet and untying my shoelaces. Both were gorgeous, with clean fluffy fur. The guides are super friendly and take photos of everyone, which they send to you later. Midway through the ride is a rest stop with tea and honeyed flatbread. The camels didn't even seem to be tired, preferring to stand than sit.
We were all a bit sore the next day or two, but that was a sweet reminder of the unique experience. Now we are home in damp, gray Germany, and think fondly of our sunny, exotic time in Marrakech.
