“ Incredible Experience ”
Wow what a day!
We were contacted by phone in the morning at the hotel that our bus was on the way. Collected promptly in a nice minibus and taken out to the desert to meet the camels.
After the usual paperwork and disclaimers, we were wrapped up in desert head gear and escorted to our camels.
We were walked out into the desert for 45 minutes. During that time the guides amused us, took photos and videos on our phones. Chatted to us about the camels.
When we arrived at the plantation we sat down and had a demo in making authentic herb/mint tea. We had some tea and were taken back to our original meeting point. This was a great experience with really nice guides.
In the afternoon we went on the quad experience. We were assured due to the joint experience level of the riders we wouldn't be blasting through the desert. We rode back out to where we were in the morning and treated to a traditional 3 course meal in the desert. Food was very nice and served to us by some young lads from a local family. They were hard working and polite and thoroughly looked after us for an hour or so.
We then mounted the quads again and off we went for a 2 hour ride. We started slowly so the competency levels could be determined, then split into two groups with a guide each. It was at this point that the realisation of a gentle ride through the desert had been a myth and we were off in a cloud of dust at brake neck speed. It was a blast!
We were guided off up into the mountains. We had a couple of breaks for water and photo opportunities. The scenery was breath taking. We met some locals who appeared happy to see us and welcoming. The off road riding was effortless on the well maintained quads we used. Once we were out of the mountains it was a full speed sprint back to base. Our guide was very safety conscious, indicating when to slow down, making sure we were together when near the roads and showing respect to the locals through the villages and up the mountain.
I try to be as objective as possible when writing reviews. The negatives are as follows
1) My inner thighs were sore having ridden the camel, which I think you will agree is not a negative in the slightest. My camel “Mike” was really friendly.
2) We were provided open face helmet and goggles for the quads. I was at the back of queue and consumed a vast quantity of desert. Again this is to be expected and did not detract from the experience!
I would like to extend my gratitude to all the team for one of the most memorable experiences I have ever done. I drove buddy’s in the desert in Vegas and this experience was by far much better. Both myself and my partner had the best day and we are still talking about it. The staff were amazing and made our holiday. If you’re in Marrakech this experience is an absolute must!

“ Fantastic trip. ”
3 girls on a adventurous trip. Dunes and dessert picked us up promptly from near our hotel. They provided lots of contact prior to arrival.
We were kindly welcomed by all of the staff with a complementary tea. We then got offered to wear a traditional head scarf for the camel ride which we all wanted. There were lockers available for personal belongings or you can bring your bag. The camel ride was about 40 minute then we stopped for breakfast with a local family. They served tea and crispy crepe with honey and sesame seeds....delicious! Our guide Hic Ram was very attentive and took lots of pictures for us on our journey. There was also a professional photographer. After breakfast we rode the camel back to the starting point . I absolutely loved this trip.
We then got geared up for the quad bike. Wear trousers of you can burn your leg. We were provided with hoods and helmets. We were given a practice run and we then set off. We went up the mountain and drove though the dessert terrain. We stopped for lunch with the same family. The children that helped were lovely and the food was amazing! They served traditional tagine and fruit dessert. Drinks were provided throughout.
I would recommend topping up sun cream at this point.
It was very hot and I have never sweated as much in my life but I loved every minute
The trip is such good value for money. Would definitely recommend

“ Great camel riding experience in Marrakech ”
I recently visited Marrakech with my husband and 10-year-old nephew and wanted to go on a camel ride. We hooked up with Dunes & Desert through our hotel, Le Meridien. We were not disappointed. The staff was very attentive. They made my nephew feel special. One of the guides, Yassine, took pictures for us, which was a nice touch. Even the tea ceremony was fun! Definitely would recommend this experience and this company!

“ Fantastic time and great guides! ”
We booked through trip advisor which was easy and received an email confirming pick up times.
My wife and I did a morning camel riding and the afternoon on quad biked.
The whole day was smooth and total entertainment and value for money. Highly recommend this. The only thing that was (slightly) dissapointing was that it says air conditioned vehicles for pick up and drop off but both times it was not used.
Other than that all great. Special thanks to our guides Jamal, Hicham and Yassine. Genuinely friendly and entertaining people!

“ Amazing people and amazing experience! ”
Our third day in Marrakech and this experience completely made us fall in love with Morocco.
The driver picked us up from our hotel, we met up with the staff and then had some water. We then got on the camels, rode to the place where we had breakfast (pancakes and Moroccan tea). We had breakfast with a Colombian family who were lovely and was good to get to know them. Then we rode back to the starting point and had a break. After, they showed us how to use the quad bikes and we drove to the area again to have our lunch (had a break midpoint) and we had bread, vegetables, lamb tagine and then fruit at the end, it was delicious! We then drove to near the mountains, had a break and drove back. We then got back to the staring point, freshened up and collected our pictures that they took which were beautiful.
The thing that made this experience so good was the hospitality of the staff. They were so caring, respectful and they went that extra mile for us. They looked after my grandma who was unable to take part and my mum who has Multiple Sclerosis and my younger sister who were really struggling towards the end but they took care of them and did everything then can to make sure they were okay. We haven’t had a good experience with the staff in our hotel so we appreciated everything they did for us even more. We have lots of respect for the staff and we miss them and we would love to go back.

“ Great day out ”
We booked online before we left for camel and quad bike tour. Everything was very well organised, and everyone was really helpful, friendly and good fun. I couldn’t fault the whole day. Plenty of delicious food at tea and lunch, photos, Yassine was good fun and did a great mint tea making demonstration! The camels looked well looked after. Zaharia was great on the quad bikes, and very patient with me while I got the hang of it!
I would definitely recommend this for a family with teens.
Thank you for such a great day.

“ The highlight of our European holiday! ”
After flying into Barcelona & then across to Portugal (where we hired a car and saw a lot of that country), we ended our holiday with four nights in Marrakech, with the camel and quad biking tour booked in for our second-last day. It was a real highlight, not only for us, but also for our 15 year-old son!
We were picked up from our hotel and driven to the base, where we were met by our lovely Yassine, who was to be our camel guide for the morning. He spoke very good English, and is from the Atlas Mountains. He was very knowledgeable and informative. We loved the camel riding, each on our own camel, tied to the camel in front of them (my camel Aisha was in the lead) - Yassine and the other four guides walked along beside us and were all great fun!
After riding on the camels for an hour, we stopped for morning tea of "pancakes" (more like puff pastry - super delicious with melted honey on the top!) and tea. This was a great opportunity for us to get to know the other tourists on our dozen camels, from various parts of the world. Then we rode the hour on the camels back to our base, where we farewelled Yassine and readied ourselves for the quad biking.
Our guide for quad biking was Zakaria. We all drove back in convoy to the same place we'd had our morning tea - this time for a hot traditional Moroccan lunch. Again, it was great to relax with our fellow tourists and chat to our wonderful guides. After lunch, the quad bikes were separated into small groups - my husband, son & I were with Zakaria. He was fantastic! We followed him at a great pace, zooming around the roads and desert, stopping for a refreshing cold water break near a dam, before zooming back to base at the end of the day.
When there we were given the opportunity to look at the photos taken by the professional photographer (Zac) - we bought all his digital prints (of the camel riding as well as quad biking) at an extremely reasonable price.
One thing I must warn you about is the DUST! We were all absolutely filthy at the end of the day, despite being dusted off with the air compressors. I was very pleased we had that evening to rinse out all our clothes back at our hotel so they could be dry before having to pack our suitcases for our long flights back to Australia!

“ Tourist Trap Galore, No Dunes ”
If you want to do the most touristy thing possible with more show than substance, this is the place for you. The camel ride is boring and brings you across a highway and along power lines for most the walk. The quads are powerful but you must follow your guide single file and slowly the whole way....and at no time are you on any dunes. Just desert. So pretty much flat sandy dirt. The best part hands down was the lunch and tea and snacks with the Berber family but that’s not what you’re there for if you read the title of this “adventure”. Maybe there are dunes and free ride quads elsewhere

“ Great time ”
We did this is December and it was great. The temperature was perfect but our clothes were covered in dust. However, it was totally worth it. The tea with a family was really a nice touch.

“ Great fun ”
We did a full day with camel riding in the morning and quad biking in the afternoon. We were picked up on time and arrived on time. Very friendly and well organised. A good range of language skills with the leaders. Had a lovely lunch. Were provided with plenty of fresh water. Attention to safety of participants was good. Really enjoyable.

“ Dunes & Desert - Excellent ”
We spent the first half of the day camel riding and the second half quad biking. My husband and I had great experience and our guides on the day were Yassine and Nouredin for Camel ride and Hicham for Quad Bike. Brilliant experience, unforgettable and the lunch provided was great !! We bought a professional picture which was 50 DMs and this was emailed to us by the team. Thank you Dunes and Desert !!

“ they made the best with what they had! ”
The food, the drinks, the service was amazing, they were awesome people and I would definitely come back if I'm ever in Morocco again.
They picked us up from our hotel. We were late but they called us and ensured us they would wait. The van was clean and the driver was very accommodating. When we arrived at the location we were instantly given a seat and warm tea. They briefly explain how would our day go and what to expect. They gave us protective gear on because of the rain, they were clean and they made sure they suited us and my hairstyle.
They taught us the simple basics of quad bikes and gave us enough time to get used to it. We rode to small cities and met locals and beautiful, warm-hearted, excited children! This made my day, we drove only with my friends, not with everyone that booked with us. After we drove to the place where our lunch would be served, they made a small campfire to get us warm and we even danced hahah! We then ate our delicious Moroccan tagine.
Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to ride the camels so we rode our quad bikes back and then they processed our refund and drop us off to our hotel.
5 Stars aren't enough to describe them despite weather ruining our day!

“ Excellent tour ”
Great combination of camel and quad in 1 day, worth the price and the effort :) you will be exhausted at the end of the day, but you will have great memories to share. We want to mention that the lunch was amazing, the kids that assisted us were very nice and polite and the whole staff is going the extra mile to make you feel good. We really recommend paying the extra fee for the professional photos as you will have LOTS of fun taking the pictures, plus the results are very very very nice. Both photographers are professional and easy to talk to. Thank you so much all for having us and see you next time :)

“ An extraordinary experience ”
OK. When you wife booked the trip I was a bit apprehensive. After spending the morning with MoMo, Mohamed, Hidram, Nordic, and Essama I wanted to stay and spend the rest of my vacation there. Our guides were amazingly gracious and hospitable. The showed a wonderful sense of humor as they led us across a short expanse of desert.
We had a short respite of fabulously prepared Moroccan tea and delicious sesame cakes.
My wife and I would do it again tomorrow. Tip: make reservations ahead of time - it is popular and books up quickly.

“ Everything provided was fantastic ”
My friends and I came to Marrakech for a weekend trip and booked this tour for one of the days, and we could not have had a better time. Every single one of the tour guides was extremely friendly and knowledge about anything and everything. I especially recommend Yassine and the two Zakarias. They were great. The food they provide is delicious and very high quality. The Quad Biking was super fun, and the camels were unforgettable. If you have time, do this tour.

“ What a great experience! ”
We were picked up in the morning, right on time about a five minute walk from our riad. We were near Jamaa El Fna Square. It was about a half hour ride from there.
We started off with the camel experience. It was fantastic, my camel was the grandma of the group. FYI the camel’s poop everywhere and your likely to step in some of it. Wear appropriate shoes. Our guides were Nouredin and Yassine, they treated us extremely well.
They toured us on the camels at a walking pace for about an hour and a half, with a break for tea and snacks in the middle. Yassine, our guide was great and spoke so many languages fluently. The camels were great but they are wide and the ride can really get to you by the end.
The ATV’s were even better. We drove around the camel trail to get comfortable and then stopped for lunch at the same place we stopped for break with the camels. Lunch was a delicious beef tagine served with bread and Coca Cola and water.
After lunch, we asked to split up and that’s when the exhilaration began. Zakaria guided two of our group where we cruised through the desert at a speed that put a huge grin on our faces.
Chaiba guided the other two of us. They were more cautious and Chaiba still managed to get them roaring on the quads.
All in all, the team at Desert and Dunes put together a fantastic experience for us all. They took souvenir photos for a an extra charge but everything else was included as mentioned.
If going-and I would recommend this. I would recommend shoes that can step in poop and clothes that you know will get caked in sand when driving your atv.

“ Camel Ride and Buggy Tour ”
We did a camel ride and buggy tour combo so that my friend wouldn't have to drive on her own. The camel ride was first and it was fun, but definitely Yassine made the experience amazing. There were 8 people in our group. We all got a traditional scarf wrapped around our heads before we set off for our camel ride. We trekked to a local village where we had breakfast, Morrocan pancakes and Moroccan Whiskey (mint tea). This was really a highlight of the trip outside of Yassine's engagement with the group. After we finished eating we trekked back to the starting point and got ready for the next part of our day.
After we came back from our camel ride we got fitted for our gear to go ride the buggies. Hicham provided instructions on how to operate the vehicle and then we were off to take pictures and then back to the village, but this time to have lunch. The lunch was great. We had tangine, homeade bread, water, mint tea and fruit for dessert. Then we set off for what really was a breathtaking ride through the mountains and neighborhoods within the mountains. We stopped at a lookout point to take some pictures and drink some water. Then it was back down the mountain we went. It was a great experience. Please note, you will get dirty during this ride. They will airbrush you after the ride to remove as much dirt as possible, but when you go to shower you will find dirt in places you didn't image.
I highly recommend doing a full day tour. For us it was a great way to end our time in Marrakech.

“ Camel and ATV Adventure ”
We decided to book a full day vs a half day and so happy with our decision! We received a friendly and welcoming reception once we arrived - the camel ride to the Berber village was great, a lengthy 45-50 minute ride each way led by our awesome guide Nouredin among 3 others. They were extremely friendly, cheerful and made us laugh through the ride. They even made camel shaped charms for us from palm leaves as they walked/guides the camels...3 baby camels followed us the entire time! We arrived at the Berber village for some tea and a light snack, the family was welcoming and friendly. Nouredin and the other guides took pictures whenever we asked and made sure we were comfortable, as the camel ride took a little to get used to.
The 2nd half of our day was on a 2hr+ ATV tour led by Momo, an awesomely friendly guide. We rip through the countryside to the same Berber village and enjoyed a tagine meal, soo good. After a filling meal, Momo led us through the countryside and foothills of a mountain, stopping 2-3 different times to take pictures of us and making sure we stayed hydrated. Momo was great! His English was excellent and fun to hang with and made the ride even more memorable.
